Unfortunately, by mid-morning, Mark was no longer leading us. He started feeling ill (which would later be determined to be covid.) Truly amazing that he was able to complete the rest of the trip while battling covid. Wow. At the Miner Basin trail fork was where he was especially feeling poor.
There was a bit of water down below - though it would have been tricky to find enough water seeping through the spring into the meadow. We had enough water to make it the rest of the way and didn't try filtering from some of the shallow, mucky pools.
