IASAS Day 2 - Split Games

On the second day of IASAS, some key 3s by SAS' big man couldn't secure the #1 seed.  Combined with a win against ISB Bangkok, it puts us into the semis with the #2 seed.

IASAS Day 1 Game 3 vs ISM

What a great way to end Day 1 with a pull-away win against ISM.  ISKL is playing really well and can't do better than 3-0 on the first day.  Keep playing hard!

IASAS Day 1 Game 2 v TAS

So great to have a dominating victory against TAS - our first in many years - first ever for Reeve.  Great first game and well played.  Yida was dominant in the middle and made a big difference.

Congratulations, Panthers!

IASAS Game 1 v JIS

Nice game to start the tournament, with ISKL coming out against JIS and getting a good and expected win.  With three games on Day 1, it was a great start.

Huge thanks to Mark van Cott for the incredible photos.

Cheering on IASAS

Ryan, our athletic director had the huge head cutouts made for each of the athletes at IASAS.  Another fun addition for the first day of the basketball tournament in Jakarta.

What a thrill to get to cheer on Reeve and his team - and how far this team has come in the last couple of years.  Go Panthers! Nice to be cheering on some big wins on Day 1!

Dinner with Friends

Rania had some of her friends over for pizza.  Good times and great for them to get to hang out.

Outside the Pavilion

After church and lunch and perhaps some shopping heading outside the Pavilion.  The Chinese New Year Decorations sure are overwhelming.

The Garden of Evening Mist

Tracy and quite a few members of the English Department got to go to a movie - and dinner afterwards - for the Garden of Evening Mist, set in Malaysia during World War II.  Great to get Noren's insights about the history, as well as her daughter's wisdom on filmmaking.

The decorations at the Pavilion were also worth a photo.

Problem-Solving in the Pool

Great to get to watch a PE class and see the kids problem-solving and trying to race their raft using the guidelines that require most of them to be on the raft - not in the water.

Beautiful sights and fun times.

Thumbs up Type of Day

Rania gives the thumbs up for a day like this.  Great to enjoy some of the everyday events that make up the days in each week.

KL Skyline

Every day I get to pass the stunning view from the middle school area - and hard not to take pictures to fill the beautiful sight that comes on clear days.

CNY in KL

Always impressive to see the Chinese New Year Decorations that are part of the malls around KL.  This is at KLCC.  Impressive craftsmanship.

Sense of Peace

Flying out of LA, there was such a sense of peace after saying Goodbye to dad.  There was a large bank of clouds, and then suddenly up above the clouds with the sun on the horizon.  A glimpse of the glory of heaven compared with the poor visibility and heavy weather within and below the clouds.

Definitely a tearful moment - and filled with a sense of gratitude and peace.

Ohio Departures

It was wonderful to get to visit Ohio for Tracy, Reeve, Gabi and Rania.  It was also time to say goodbye and return to Malaysia after spending the holidays there.
