Watching Little League

Watching some baseball and getting to see the Quinn kids playing - always a fun chance to catch up. . .and also cheer for the success of the team.

Go Bryson, Kaiden, Ethan!

On the Balcony

Always wonderful to enjoy time on our balcony! A delightful opportunity to enjoy a good book and a good view, perhaps not simultaneously, though, as one's eyes can only be in one place at a time :).

Rainbow Return

On the drive home, there was quite a double rainbow while making the way across the farmland of Indiana.

Heather and Dina!

After the campus tour of Notre Dame, Tracy (and Gabi) got to hang out in a coffee shop, getting to see Heather and Dina.  How wonderful to connect and hear updates and catch up on all the lives of all the kids (and families).

Gabi enjoyed the book section of the shop (mostly) while there was great conversation and catching up.

Visiting Notre Dame

Well, it isn't quite being in Paris (from our blog), nor is it the same as when Reeve and Doug visited pre-covid, but with Notre Dame opening tours (at least outdoor ones) to prospective students, Gabi and Tracy were there for the first tour.

At the Quockerts

Fun to spend the evening over at Jason and Nicole's.  Nice to use the patio and enjoy conversation.

Rain and Rainbow

Some nice sights from right outside our house.  Rania shows the beautiful skies after the rain - and then the appearance of the rainbow below.

Indeed, what a beautiful day to enjoy the outdoors.

Michael Arrives

Michael was even able to join our dinner event - though late due to the busy work of a journalist.  So great to see some of his work and experience in broadcasting.

Hosting Dinner

We had the whole family over for diner - something to enjoy and allow for as many seats as possible as people arrived and enjoyed a meal together.

NBA at Grandpa's

It is the Suns v Clippers in the NBA playoffs, and Grandpa has been super generous in letting Gabi and Doug spend time watching some NBA action.

We certainly appreciate the kindness - and the opportunity to watch some exciting basketball. . . even if the Suns couldn't pull out this game.

A Freeze Daddy's Trip

A wonderful summer evening.  Back in Ohio after our east coast trip.  A delightful time to enjoy some ice cream.  Yes, to all.  So it was off to Freeze Daddy's for an evening treat.

Phil's in Town

So wonderful to have Doug's college friend, Phil, passing through town.  He, like many of us, have been a bit in covid limbo, though with a Thai experience that is similar, though different in some key respects, than the Malaysian experience.  It was great to catch up with some of what has transpired in a few years, tell stories of multiple covid test regiments as part of crossing international borders and just hear his insights from being in Thailand.

Heading Home

After quite the east coast swing, it was in the car heading home.  Definitely amazing to see DC, Manhattan, Boston, Niagara Falls (and more) as part of a wonderful few days looking at schools - and feeling a bit like covid is a distant memory (we can hope, right?)

Walking to American Falls

With the island being such a beautiful place, we did make our way across to the American side, which is also so impressive.

Wow. Simply Wow.

Seeing the Maid of the Mist as it heads toward the falls.

What a wonderful day.

Niagara Falls

Some of the (many) pictures that we took looking over to the Canadian side of the falls.  Interestingly enough, Tracy and Doug had both been there as kids - though never to the Canadian side.  With covid and border travel, it certainly won't be today.

Beautiful sights on a beautiful day.

Stunning.
