In Skagway, it was a chance for some more shore excursions. Tasha, Eli, Micah, and Doug went to on a hike and river float. The hike was pretty mellow - would have been fun to be able to go farther if we would have had the chance. It was pretty funny with some rather experienced hikers how the guide was used to supporting safety, telling us where to step as we went all of 1-2 miles up the trail.
Steve, our guide was certainly full of energy.
Wild to read of the Chilkoot trail and just how brutal it was to try and get all the gear up to where the gold rush was taking place. The back and forth of super heavy equipment and what was required to ensure that everyone had enough supplies and didn't starve was pretty wild.
