For a bit of a birthday getaway, Tracy and Doug made the short trip over to Norris Geyser Basin where we could enjoy the basin almost to ourselves. We went on a separate loop than the big basin and saw Steamboat Geyser, the largest in the world. . . of course it only erupts about every 17 years or so . . . but impressive to see the structure and how it pulls the water from the spring below whenever the mysterious underearth forces come together to cause an eruption.
