Bedtime Routine

FRIDAY, MARCH 19, 2010

Bedtime routines are always a challenge. There is the joy of intimate down time with our kids. There is also the challenge of endless questions, need for water, lots of books, Bible time, and prayer time that can drag out.

But it is precious to be able to tuck our little ones in at night. Usually one of us will tend to the girls, where stories are about horses, ponies, unicorns before reading the Children's Bible and having prayer time.

The other will tend to Reeve, where spies will infiltrate enemy territory (Zac Power) or a brother-sister team will try to take down the enemy in search of elusive mysteries (39 clues) before the Youth Bible (with comic-strip type stories) and prayer time end our routine. Reeve has been continuing to read often at night, which makes his parents quite happy to see his interest in reading increasing. . .though it also results in later bedtimes that sometimes result in a tired child the following day.

But nothing is quite as precious as Rania's prayers. What a delight to hear her un-ending thankfulness for everything under the sun!

and i must say... even though the genre of literature that you described is a bit different, Reevesters seems very into Amber on the Mountain.

How precious is that! She certainly has a grateful heart and that is wonderful! And I am thankful for Rania!

I tell you, the girl loves the squirrels and dolphins, and to a lesser extent, even the whales. Even people. She covered pretty much all the bases. I laughed so hard at this video - thank you for posting it, can't wait for Markwoo to see it.

That is absolutely fantastic. Our nephew Gabriel has been staying with us, and I have been blessed by his sometimes entertaining (sincerely meant) prayers. But I think Rania might have him beat. I loved it.
