Fireworks!

 While in DC, we went downtown to see the fireworks on the Mall.  Trying to be close enough to see something good while not having the huge crowds on the mall, Mark found a spot near the river.  

The subway ride there was with some adventure with two individuals getting in a fight - and Mark and Marta's Dad having to escape the melee. 

On the way back, we walked along the Navy Yard, enjoying the sights and getting closer to a subway station that we hoped wouldn't be too crowded.
