Jurassic World

Before heading back to the States (for the kids) - and while having the luxury of much, much cheaper movie tickets, the girls and dad spent a final evening going to Jurassic Park.  With school closing - and wrapping up the goodbye to the Ampang Campus, we enjoyed some good ol' dinosaur adventure movie action.

The Photo Booth was a huge hit at the Moving On Party - and the parents and vendor were generous enough to make the photos from the booth available in digital format.  So fun.  Clearly, Gabi and her friends enjoyed many visits back to the Photo Booth for the series of memories from this special night.  What a wonderful conclusion to three wonderful years in middle school.  While it is so, so sad to say goodbye to some of the good friends that are leaving (Emma), it is also inspiring to see the tight and powerful friendships that are created as part of being at ISKL.

Moving On Party Photos

Though parents helped host the event, it was obviously evident that parents who happened to also be the Middle School Assistant Principal were better left away from the event.  It still made it fun to see the pictures posted by the photographer and see ample evidence of lots and lots and lots of fun that was had at the event. 

Moving On Party Venue - the Ritz.

Thanks to the parents of the PTA and Grade 8, the MS Moving On Ceremony was followed by a party where the kids got to go to the Ritz Carlton for their party.  This is very much in part thanks to the generosity of an ISKL parent who helps make this possible.  Indeed, not sure that I know many people in my generation or my middle school circles who attended parties at the Ritz. 

Throw in a professional photographer - and it makes for an even more special evening.

With a Favorite Teacher

Not sure what is more impressive in this picture - the fact that Gabi was fortunate enough to have Mrs. Peters as her teacher - or the fact that Mrs. Peters was generous enough to pose for a picture for Gabi!  Among the many immense blessings of being in Malaysia, is the fact that our kids get to have teachers who have such a positive, inspiring, impactful touch on their lives.

Lucky to be the Middle School Assistant Principal and have the chance to give a well-deserved hug to a very impressive young woman walking across the stage as part of the Grade 8 Moving On Ceremony. 

Doug's duties also included announcing the 2018 Robert B Gaw Award Winners.

Moving On!

Wow, the forces of balance are now shifting so that we will have more of our family in high school instead of middle school.  What a proud moment to get to watch Gabi attend the Grade 8 Moving On Ceremony and have the privilege of being a part of a proud class of 2022 as they prepare for High School.  What, now it is just Rania and dad left in middle school!

Faculty Farwell Assembly

Together at KLCC

Gabi and Rania got a chance to hang out together and this picture is part of the record of this. Mom took them out to lunch at Ben's at KLCC - and such nice smiles as the year gets close to coming to a close.  Fun times just before the advent of summer.
