Seeing Emi

 Gabi decided to go and see Emi for a few days - which left Rania to ride her bike (or get rides) to her job at Beer Barrell or any of her babysitting gigs.  Fortunately, it was a good trip, and Gabi gets to enjoy a couple of days in Pittsburgh. 

 

Graduation 2025

 Another impressive graduation event, with our events team doing such a great job of transforming the gym. 

So so fun to see Ruby returning from Yale; unfortunately, she may not be back now that her brother has graduated - and the family is moving away.  What a great family!

 Congratulations also to Michael van Cott and all of his accomplishments!

Greenery

 Good to see glimpses of the campus - and remembering to take pictures from time to time - forgetting that it takes time for the trees to grow. 

 

Faculty Student Basketball Game

 We played against the 8th grade students in our faculty v students basketball game.  Quite the photos, thanks to the school photographer who was there!  

Yes, we remain undefeated in all our years here, which is a good sign. 

 

Not sure these are quite the image of sheer athleticism I imagine in my mind!

Faculty Goodbye Event

 For Peter, there was a faculty farewell event (as well as for other departing teachers) on Monday after school.  It was a pretty fun and funny skit - complete with Mr. Casey's greatest hits - forgetting his pants to chiming in on WhatsApp hours (days?) later. 

 

Concert

 Gabi and Rania got to see the Weeknd at Ford Field on Sunday.  How fun to get to enjoy such a great concert not too far from our place in Toledo. 

 

Dinosaur Making

 Gabi is getting quite proficient with her skills in making a dinosaur.  And with some nice weather and the lawn next to the pond, it is a good place to hang out while getting more progress on her dinosaurs!

 

Farewell Fun

 We had an area in the corner reserved - which was a nice place to be together and enjoy the evening. 

 The band was super impressive - and a lot of fun - with their various sets throughout the evening. 

Tina's Farewell

 Thanks to a collection of wonderful helpers, including Diane Douglas, there was a delightful farewell event for Tina at a Speakeasy downtown. We had not been there before - and it was quite an experience - and quite an fun atmosphere and lots of people gathered to celebrate Tina. 

 

MS Arts Festival

 For the closing ceremonies of the MS Arts Festival, I was privileged enough to say a few words and celebrate the incredible artistry that has been on display for the past two weeks. 

I also tried to smile and hand out a few awards when helpful. 

 

Carriers!

 How wonderful to have Gerad and Rhonda Carrier stop by to see the school.  For all the times that we've passed and not connected while they've come and visited Malaysia, it was super fun to re-connect with them, hear about Harvey's wonderful time in Guatemala, and learn a lot more about ACS connections and how they are doing. 

 

Mud Pit

 When the plans for the new playground were issued - with the hopes of getting it done in time for the start of the next school year (while using existing year's budget), we didn't quite realize the eyesore of the mud pit that would be much of May 2025! 

 Now they've added some of the construction bunting along all of the edges - which was a bit unexpected. 

Kroger Shopping

 The girls finishing another successful shopping trip.  It is always good to have some food!

Rooftop Farewell

 As part of the farewells for the year, there was a pretty informal rooftop gathering on Friday afternoon with a chance to say goodbye to Peter and Tina.  What a legacy!

 Good to see some of the plaques updated and replaced - so that now Rania's  name is in on the plaque.  So proud of their accomplishments!

Cody Walking

 The girls are enjoying some down time and helping out with cousins and relatives, here walking Cody near the Quockert abode. 

 

Volleyball Champions!

 What a fabulous tournament that ended with some championship hardware for our girls' and boys' teams.  They are sure talented!  Very fun to watch so many great, epic matches between Desa Park and ISKL this year.  Good to have the championship for AIMS today. 

 

Final GLC Meeting

 The final GLC meeting of the year - and the end of an era for Peter - took place today - and here is a photo commemorate the moment. 

 

Groceries

 Back in Maumee, it was time for Gabi and Rania to go grocery shopping, ensuring there is enough food for the coming days. 

 

Packing Up

 Rania was able to go to help Gabi pack up and get ready to head home.  What an incredible school year for both of them - and good to reflect and appreciate all the blessings from the year. 

 

Sidewalk Work

 They continue to do work on the other side of the road with the sidewalk and the lane expansion, so we continue to walk across Jalan Ritchie to get to the crosswalk before going to school.

CC2 Finish

 What an amazing cohort to finish up Cognitive Coaching Days 5-8.  It was really fun also having Tracy as part of the group and getting to work with her - and lots of laughter (as well as tears) with some fun lineups, and really great connections from amazing educators.
