Flores Island Arrival

 Gabi and Doug went to Komodo to dive with Scuba Junkie.  It was a direct flight from KL to Labuan Bajo, which was nice - and we were able to get a boat that would take us there that night, saving a day rather than waiting until the main boat the next day.  (There was another family, so it was nice to split that cost too.)

 

Christmas Morning

 Wonderful to get to have all of the Christmas presents and gifts with those of us together. 

 

So so much to be thankful for - and a wonderful time together with the family before heading to Pantai Hospital to see Reeve. 

Morning Fruit

 Sure a beautiful collection of fruit to start Christmas morning. 

 

Christmas Eve Dinner

 A delicious meal together - and while it was sad that Reeve could not be there, we sure are thankful that he could get into surgery so quickly. 

Plenty of presents under the tree in the corner of the room. 

 

Surgery Done

 Thankfully, a good initial report from Reeve's surgery.  He did pretty well, though is a fair bit groggy after the morning surgery. 

 

Checking In

 Reeve checked into Pantai Hospital for the ACL surgery that is scheduled for tomorrow. He was able to get a nice single room and looks like everything is set for a Christmas Eve gift of a new and improved knee (and a fair bit of pain and a long recovery). 

 

Gifts Exchange

 With Reeve heading to check-in for knee surgery tomorrow, we exchanged gifts with Reeve and Marilyn to enjoy some time together. 

 

Horizon Grill Dinner

 We had a delicious dinner, followed by some more evening pictures from the terrace and skyview.

 Unfortunately, Rania was feeling sick, so only the five of us were able to get together for a spectacular meal, thanks to the gift cards from Doug's work with doing weekend seminars, to allow for a great experience. 

The view - just after the rain - was wonderful. We got a few pictures before the sun set. 

 

Zoe Reunion

 Gabi and Zoe got to re-connect, which as always involves great food, big smiles and lots of stories.

 Not too often do we get a family picture, so trying to take advantage of an opportunity when we are all together.  

 

Din Tai Fung

 We enjoyed getting to have a meal with Marilyn and her mom - so fascinating to learn about how her business is expanding and all the work that she is doing to monitor quality, hire quality personnel and do so much work to continue to build her work. 

 

Gabi Arrives!

 Exciting to have Gabi make it from Athens after her semester there.  So so wonderful to have the family together. . . well as soon as we meet Reeve and Marilyn in a few hours. 

Glad she had a great trip - and a good choice for her travel shirt :).
 

Airport Waiting

 The trip from Phuket to KL is pretty short, though it always takes a while to wait at the airport, boarding, getting luggage and then the trip back home. 

 

Morning at The Beach

 To ensure our interval time between our last dive and flying, we got to spend much of Friday morning at the beach before heading back to the airport.  Pretty amazing place - and our favorite location was very kind to allow a late checkout.
