Closing Night

Well, it is closing night - and what a thrill to get to see the fun and celebrations from on stage after the final curtain fell.  So, so proud of so many talented actors, musicians and vocalists.

Backstage Fun

A couple of nice snapshots of some of the fun and excitement from backstage. Pretty funny when one of our Teaching and Learning Coordinators introduces herself as "Gabi Woodward's personal assistant."  Between all the costume changes and managing the mascot, it is about a full-time job!

The Cast

Here is a picture of the entire cast.  What a thrill to have a huge, fun, community-wide musical for everyone to enjoy - and such incredible participation by the high school!

The Show!

Wow!  What a show - and Gabi, according to many "stole" it.  She was such a star and did such an energetic, positive, enthusiastic rendition of Bridget.  So much talent and so much spectacle for a high school performance.  So so so so proud!

Bring It On

With a lead role, it was so so exciting to get ready for Bring It On the high school musical by Lin Manuel Miranda.  What great music and a truly special show.  Many of the pictures, taken during rehearsals and pre-performance run throughs were pretty awesome!

School

van Gogh Museum

With another long layover in Amsterdam, it was a treat to get to go into the city and see the van Gogh museum.  Nice chilly day spent waiting for my time slot (and sitting in the grass, getting some lunch in the Museumplex area and enjoying a chance to process an emotional trip).  Then, I still had a bit of time before heading back to the airport  and mostly avoided the raindrops with a little walk around town and through a park, with some time to read sitting on a bench.

 Fun to see the painting that I vividly recall from The Oaks where we did that as an author study and each student created a frame. 

Emotional Goodbye

Truly, a privilege to get to spend even a short time with dad.  Though I had just arrived, it was time to return to KL and to work.  Before heading to the airport (where mom would be arriving shortly after my departure - and could get the car), I went for a short walk around Friendsview.  So, so thankful for countless blessings from an amazing father and amazing grandfather in my life.  Also, it is never easy to say goodbye.
