Friends

 So so so wild that these middle school (and HS) friends from Kuala Lumpur end up in the same university together in the midwest - and now on the same intramural team!

So fun to be a part of her sorority and enjoying great times together with other members.  A Saturday evening bonfire is always a good thing as well!

A quick video from our short holiday in Khao Lak as they are trimming the coconut palms - and cutting down the ripe coconuts - largely as a safety measure so they don't fall on guests.

 As evening got closer, it was time for a nice drink by the pool before heading into town for some dinner - and trying on the shirt (not quite sure what I think. . . ) from Paul the tailor. 

 

 

Beach Time

 Another rough day in paradise, enjoying some time in the beach before stopping for lunch, which includes some delicious fruit shakes and pad thai. 
 

Then back to the beach for more leisurely reading!

Khao Lak Arrival

 For the long weekend, we made our way to one of our favorite places in SE Asia (at least nearby), enjoying the Nangthong Bay Resort.  As always, a pretty amazing welcome upon arrival. Nice to be there the same day as we start our four-day weekend. 

 

Sunday Sights

 From walking along Loyola's campus to enjoying some time in nearby markets, it is a great way to spend the first Sunday in September. 

 

Downtown Chicago

 Rania and some of her friends went to downtown Chicago for a fun Saturday event, as well as some spectacular weather and some delightful treats. 

 

KL Rainbow

 We don't see too many rainbows in KL - and nice to catch  one from the edge of our place. 

 

Four Winds Field

 Four Winds Field means minor league baseball - and a fun evening at the ballpark for Gabi and Jack.
