Reunited with Mom

 Wonderful to arrive in Portland from Tokyo and get to see mom again.  It has been just over a month - and seems like a different world with dad now gone. 

Returning for Dad's Memorial Service

It is back to the US - for dad's memorial service.  Hope it will be a great celebration of life.  

One of the perks of having flown so much is now having "Gold Medallion Status" and access to the lounges.  Free food and more spacious waiting areas - above in KL - and below in Tokyo (I think) - though I had a weird connection in both Incheon and then Tokyo. 

 

Season 2 Awards Ceremony

 What a great event for Reeve as part of the Season 2 sports celebration - 4 year IASAS is quite an honor as well as some plaudits from the basketball season.  

Car Wash for the Suzuki

 The Suzuki needed a car wash, so head to the local Shell station for a cleaning. 

Baseball Season

 Straight into Baseball season, there is a weekend league and Reeve plays against mostly some adult teams.  Nice to start a final season of high school sports. 

Visit to the MPO

 The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra is always a treat - and Gabi and Maria Sarnacki joined us to go to the orchestra and enjoy a fabulous performance. There was a circus theme - with some fun, engaging performances by the clowns and artistic gymnastic type entertainment.

CNY at ISKL

Some Chinese New Year celebrations at ISKL - with the dragon making its way through the ISKL middle school, including devouring some oranges on my desk.  

We even got a group photo with the dragon and the middle school office staff.

 

A Vanest Visit

What a delight to hear that Abby Vanest is in KL and got to come over to our house for dinner one night.  She is a bit of a covid refugee as classes are not in-person in Hong Kong as she has been studying abroad for the semester as part of her studies in Purdue.  

Fun to reminisce about camping in Indiana, babysitting adventures, and memories from great friends.

 

Disappointing IASAS Finish

 It was a disappointing end to IASAS with a loss in the semis against ISM before a deflating loss against TAS for the bronze medal - with a last minute basket being the difference for the disappointed Panther Nation.
