Gratitude (and food)

To thank Tina Casey, Karen Palko, and Jaymin Baird, we invited them over for dinner as a token of appreciation for the fabulous Addams Family work.  Unfortunately, Jaymin got ill and was unable to come.

Fun to connect, laugh, hear stories (Karen's, of course!) and enjoy time together.

Gabi also made quite the cake.  Wow!

Fun with Friends

A very cool, artistic picture that Gabi took on the weekend - and good to see the smiles with friends as they enjoy a meal out together.

Addams Family Musical!

What a show!  So so proud of Gabi and Rania for their roles in the Addams Family Musical.  A bit of a different show given the restrictions still in place.  Lots of physical distancing made blocking challenging - and wearing masks when not having speaking or singing roles had its own challenges.  It was an amazing show, for sure!

Congratulations to everyone involved - and so fun to have some live theatre (for those who were allowed to attend) after the delays from the beginning of the year.

Waiting Spot

After church, the little swing on the top floor of Lot 10 is our customary meeting point after the service ends.  Here is Tracy waiting for Rania and Doug with some of the blue skies and KL skyline behind her.

View from the 4th Floor

A nice view from the 4th floor, enjoying some of the beauty and wonder of working each and every day in a place surrounded by beauty.

Sunrise

Entering school and seeing a beautiful sky in the early morning.  A great day to be working with kids (isn't every day?).

Around the Tree & Eating Out

A nice family selfie attempt from January - and a chance for the family to go out to eat - the Mexican restaurant as we recall - before Reeve heads back to Case for the rest of his sophomore year.
Gabi also enjoyed a nice lunch that day - though not entirely sure where that was!

Santa!

Apparently, at least at the Intermark, the mechanical Santa gets first place on the podium!  Some clever pictures - we tried, as we vaguely recall, to try and show up and get a booster shot for Covid from the clinic - though you had to be there quite a bit earlier - or figure a different place.

Ouch!

Unfortunately, ice skating did not end up as we anticipated - interesting pattern to start the new year. Hopefully, it won't be a harbinger of things to come.  Tracy fell when her skates slipped out from under her, smashing her head on the ice.  It was quite a mess - and a visit to Glen Eagles required medical attention, shaving of the hair, some pain relief, as well as quite a few stitches.  Thankfully, kids are old enough to make their own way home via Grab - and it sure could have been worse.

Ice Skating - The Good

Ice Skating started off pretty fun - with some good chances to be together as a family and be ice skating at the mall in Melawati.  Good way to spend a Monday afternoon during our holiday.  Until. . . .

Reeve's Haircut

Reeve enjoyed getting a haircut now that we were back in KL and things were open.  Fiona does such a great job - and good to get a whole lot of hair off the head to allow for a trimmer look entering the new year.

Sing 2 and Stories to Tell

While we enjoyed the Pavilion's stunning decorations, the visit to the movie theatre and Sing 2 was a bit more memorable than anticipated.
We ended up, appropriately enough, we guess, in the kids play area theatre.  This meant that kids were running around, playing on the play equipment right in front of the screen, and doing a fair bit of yelling and screaming.  It was a bit memorable - and a bit different than what we thought when we bought tickets for a family movie.

Return from Penang

The return flight, via Air Asia, from Penang to KLIA2 was quite short and uneventful - and a good way to wrap up the end of 2021 and usher in the beginning of 2022.

Happy New Year!
