Campus Upgrades

 

Nice to see some of the enhancements around the campus, including more green showing up in key places.  The CAS office sure is a beautiful location - and prominently located.  Also, always wonderful to see the beauty of the campus that surrounds our learning environment.

On the Porch

 What a gift to be able to spend time with family.  Though the motions are mixed, working into the wee hours of the night, awaiting permission to travel to Malaysia, and also spending quality time with family, it is a wonderful privilege to spend each day with those we love.

Back on Campus

Weird to be back on campus. . . and so nice!  With physically distanced gatherings and awaiting visa approval while the girls (and Tracy) are stuck in the US, waiting entry permits, especially with the student visas, there are a lot of mixed emotions.

 

Babysitting Cody

Pretty amazing to have such a new, excited, eager, puppy - and Gabi and Rania got to do a bit of babysitting for Cody, Jason & Nicole's new dog.

 

Deer

 

Never a surprise to see the deer in Jason and Nicole's backyard.  Also, always a highlight to get to be at their house and spend time together.

Fancy Meal (Women only)

 The women and girls got together for quite a nice and fancy meal. 

Though Michael did a bit of serving and helping, not sure that was entirely the plan - though wonderful to have the three generations together for a delightful meal, conversations and chances to connect.

Freeze Daddy's

 Summer evenings at Freeze Daddy's are always highlights!

Even with a bit of volleyball to go with the wonderful cooler temperatures as things change.

Okay. . .sometimes easier to just take the picture from inside, through the screen, seeing the great chance to be on the deck enjoying some evening reading. 
 

Departure

Ready to say goodbye (for now) to the fabulous time at Mabul and the opportunity to spend two days at Sipidan.  What a fun experience - and so beautiful to be diving again.  Back to Tawau and on to KL.

 

Sunset

Erin Nichols, Gabi (and Reeve's) counselor joined for the final bit - and how wonderful to enjoy the spectacular sunset on a final evening in Mabul.

Always a treat to get to dive with Laurie Larsen (and Stephen Sweet) and mostly get her fabulous, stunning pictures.  What another great day under the water.

 

Wrapping up a great day!

What a great day - as every day when you get to dive at Sipidan is.  Back at Mabul island also had some spectacular views!

 

In Maumee

 How great to get to spend time with family.  Also, what a work of art finishing the blanket.  Wow!

Sipidan Dives

 Whereas several years ago, Sipidan days allowed four dives for the day, now it is limited to three.  We were at South Point and Mid Point for the final two dives.  The first included the enormous school of jackfish - and we went out into the blue looking for hammerheads (no luck) and coming back on top of the reef.  Beautiful drifting and what an experience for a lifetime.

Surface Interval

 One of my favorite things about Sipidan - is after the breakfast snack between the surface interval, is heading right back into the water for some snorkeling.  That wall is something to behold!  Super fun to get to enjoy the surgeonfish (Dory) right off the shore.
