Middle School Informance

Gabi, as part of the Grade 7-8 Choir, was part of the school's Middle School Informance - a time when the students, instead of performing for their parents, demonstrate what it looks like as part of music education - the chance to be a part of the process of learning music theory, instrumentation, pitch, tone and the many aspects that go into learning about music.  What an amazing opportunity to get a glimpse inside the music classroom

Student-led Conferences

We had the chance to have Rania walk us through her student-led parent, teacher conferences during the middle part of the first semester.  How proud we are of her hard work, her growth as a learner and her ability to improve as a reader and writer and mathematician.  So proud!

Pokeman Go! and Start of School

We did a fun homegroup video for school and put it together.

Here it is.

Children's Hospital

As part of the Grade 5's commitment to community service, a group of students visit the Children's Hospital every Sunday.  Today was Rania's turn and a chance to interact, play games and learn from the children who are in the Cancer Ward at the Children's Hospital.

Gabi's Soccer Tournament

Gabi's team is part of the U-13 soccer tournament; fun to watch their team get better and better.  With Coach Faria and some talented athletes, the girls' team is improving quite a bit.  Fun to watch Gabi as part of the team on a beautiful (and hot) Saturday tournament day.

Rania at Basketball

Rania is having a great season with Coach Joan and Coach Suji as part of the U-11 basketball team.  Their team is off to a great start with a fun victory against their opponents on this day. So fun to watch the girls improve as athletes and have loads of fun!

Remembering Bill Powell

In a huge loss to the educational community, Bill Powell passed away the past summer.  ISKL was privileged enough to host a commemoration of his life's work.  With many educators and leaders from around the region attending, it was a moving (and funny) tribute to a true giant in the world of education.

You can see more from this touching moment from #RememberingBillPowell on Twitter.

Girl Scouts

Gabi has joined Girl Scouts and is having a great start to her time with many of her friends, and enjoying some of the challenges and experiences of participating in Girl Scouts.
