Shoulder Train

In the shoulder massage train at the Woodward house, someone ends up with a better end than another.  Who has it best at this point of the rotation?

At Work

With the conclusion of Malaysia Week, there is plenty of work getting the 12,000+ pictures online and updating the website with all of this year's content.  What does that look like?  Here is Doug at work.

Post-Malaysia Week Fun

After Malaysia Week, the girls had some friends over.  Of course, the out-numbered boy ended up at the receiving end of some tickling.

Malaysia Week Photos from Doug's Trip

Indeed, the trip of a lifetime.  Wow.  Such pristine, amazing beauty and an experience that I will never forget.  Wow, what a privilege to be a teacher at ISKL and get to have such unbelievable experiences.

Doug Malaysia Week at Ulu Perak

Doug had the trip of a lifetime, getting to go white-water rafting for 4 days down the Sungai Singor, in Ulu Perak.  It was amazing, being several hours from civilization, in the midst of virgin rainforest, seeing some of the most beautiful sights imaginable.  We had a great time, slept on the hard ground, enjoyed the incredible beauty of the rainforest, did some intense rapids and was constantly overwhelmed with the beauty around.

Here is a video, which I put together of some of the amazing experiences.  See also, some of the incredible pictures.

Reeve Malaysia Week at Redang

Reeve had quite a Malaysia Week - getting to dive at Pulau Redang.  He really improved on his buoyancy, had spectacular weather, and it was some astounding pictures which his group brought back.  They did some coral cleaning and restoration, had fun with the 360° camera, which then transformed into panorama and also had a great time with friends, enjoying the spectacular beauty of Redang.

You can see all the pictures from the Malaysia Week Album, provided from the school.

Gabi's Malaysia Week at Ulu Muda

For Malaysia Week, Gabi got to go to Ulu Muda, quite a beautiful location with some spectacular jungle views.  She was in the middle of the rainforest, doing some animal tracking and spending one night manning the remote viewing station.  It was some pretty amazing experiences for Gabi's Malaysia Week!

You can view all the photos from Gabi's trip from the Malaysia Week album.

Dr Winquist's Retirement

As part of helping celebrate Dr. Winquist's retirement at the end of the year, Phil and I happened to be together and were able to record a joint tribute to such an amazing history professor. What a legacy!

Rania Ear Piercing (Video)

Ear Piercing

While Reeve was celebrating his birthday, Rania got one of her promised birthday presents.  Now that she is double-digits, she was granted the privilege of piercing her ears.  Wow!  Can you believe it.  Looks pretty fancy and it was mighty efficient.

A Gathering - for the 14th

We know that we are getting out of the birthday loop, when Reeve arranges to meet his friends for pizza and a movie (Jungle Book), and politely tells his parents that there is no need for us to be too close.  So after a check-in (and money to pay for the festivities), it was wait until we meet at the ice cream shop after the movie.

Wow, so this is what the future of birthdays is like?  (Sounds easier from the parental planning stage.)

Sharing a Birthday

We had the great privilege of having Phil Baarendse, Doug's friend from University, visiting from Nepal.  We also discovered that he and Reeve share the same birthday (yes, a few years apart), and had the privilege of getting to celebrate with some yummy cake and presents. Unfortunately, we don't quite have Phil's photographic skills. . .yet.

Rania Grade 4 Tsunami Hawaii Science Report

Here is Rania's impressive Grade 4 science report.

This is from the event on May 23, 1960 in Hawaii when there was a tsunami.  The expression is amazing.  Not sure if the tone matches the devastation?

After Church

As is the tradition, it is the chance to get some yummy food (or yummy drinks) as we eat lunch after church on Sundays.  Some extra-special shakes today.  Yum!

Cake & Presents!

After the pool and the Aquaria, it was a chance to head home, where we had the opportunity for a Baskin Robbins ice cream cake, some presents and a great time with the girls.  They sure had an amazing and fun time together.

The KL Aquaria Celebration

The KL Aquaria had lots of fun, with the girls having a chance to explore the tidepools, see freshwater, rainforest exhibits, go underneath the big section with the sharks, explore the jellyfish and do some individual explorations in the craft and educational center.
