Strange Creatures & A New World

As part of testing out all the features of the computer image for next year, Reeve created this short story.

Enjoy!

Thanks Party

We were quite privileged to be invited to a gathering on Sunday afternoon as Dante and Richard hosted a "thank you" party to many in the community that had been part of their year.  There was some unbelievably yummy food (and way too many incredible desserts!).  We even got a huge thunderstorm during our visit.

Gabi, of course, found a nice place to dive into her latest book.  Eragon, re-reading Harry Potter, are among her current literary pursuits.

Hari Hari

One of our favorite stalls is Hari Hari, which has some absolutely delicious Thai food.  If traffic isn't too bad (or if we have to pick up someone), we'll often order and show up with our containers and take it away to our house for a delicious Thai dinner.  Here is the chef preparing our last dish as all the veggies get put into the oil.

DeHart Visit

How wonderful to have the DeHarts back in their own home.  It was a delightful evening of food, fellowship, and yes, figuring out the best plan for the flood damage.

And always good to catch up on how they are doing Stateside.

The Swim - Movie Trailer

Inspired by the great movie producer and leader of Gabster Films, we are excited to bring you The Swim - the hit movie coming soon. Here is the trailer.

The Finish Line

Thanks to a young film maker, from Gabster Films and iMovie,  we now bring you the following hit trailer:

The Finish Line.

Swimming Fun

After church, Samuel came home with us and we had some fun playing baseball in the park and then going to grandma and grandpa's pool.

The last few weeks have seemed especially hot - so we've been in the pool quite a few times.  This time just happened to have the camera to enjoy some fun.

Flood 2

We had a bit of a mini-flood as the pipe burst in the same place.  Not nearly as much water, and thankfully Juvy was home.  But it is amazing how much water can pour out in just a couple of minutes.

So, hopefully, things are fixed again.  And a long term plan is in place to fix things.

Harry Potter Concert

Thanks to the great MS band program (and some kids who couldn't make it), there were a couple of extra tickets for the MPO presentation of Harry Potter.  They had two very impressive storytellers / actors who did a great job of telling about the music.

And what a magical score by John Williams.  Music was from all eight movies, and we learned that there were four different composers for the different films.  It was a delightful afternoon of some spectacular music by the MPO.

End of Year Party

We had the annual end of the year party for ISKL faculty and staff.  It was a lot like in past years:  great food, good company, and Tracy won a lucky draw!  Impressive streak as we really do think she has won each of the last six years.  A yoga mat, a dinner buffet, an iron, a vacuum cleaner, a 300 RM voucher, and this year a 200 RM voucher to a nearby grocery store.  Impressive streak!

It is always a highlight of the year, and this year was no exception.

The theme was "punk" and many got quite dressed up.  The Woodwards:  not so much.

Music Concert

How fun to attend the spring music concert at Melawati.  It is always a packed house.  With Gabi in the choir and Reeve in the band, it was a full plate.  There were also art pieces from the talented artists, and it was fun to see some impressive art work by our kids!

Gabi sure did a great job with the colors in her desert scene.

Flood

Unfortunately, we encountered a less than delightful event.  After returning from a few hours out, at church and getting lunch, there was a deluge coming through the ceiling, as the pipe had burst out of the water tank.

Up to an inch of water on most of both floors and some pretty bad damage, especially to a favorite rug.  Yuck.

They say blogs should chronicle the good and bad days.  This was definitely one of the bad ones.
